You are the light of the world.  A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to all in the house.  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.  Matthew 5:14-16

THE MATURE WOMAN

The world’s view of a mature woman is seen differently by men than by women.  Men may want a woman who can be all things for him; take care of the housework, manage the children, work at a full-time job, and after all that, look like a “hot" super-model who is ready to satisfy his every sexual need at a moment’s notice.

Women, on the other hand, may view maturity in the modern perspective of release from traditional roles.  She may express herself in extreme fashion and independent action.

But perhaps we should look to the Scriptures to determine what truly a mature woman is:

·        A woman of faith (Hebrews 11:6)

·        A woman whose love for YHWH is deep and intense (Mark 12:30)

·        A woman who prays for her husband and children (Psalm 141:1-2)

·        A woman faithful to her husband, focused on her family’s needs, and fulfilling both home tasks and outside responsibilities in a balanced way (Proverbs 31:10-11, 15, 27)

·        A woman dedicated to the body of Messiah (Romans 16:1-2)

·        A woman whose knowledge of YHWH leads to the family’s well-being and spiritual growth (II Timothy 1:5)

·        A woman who give herself to spiritual beauty (I Peter 3:3-4)

·        A woman who joins her husband in child training (Proverbs 22:6)

·        A woman accountable to her family community and Heavenly Father (Romans 14:11-12)

·        A woman who takes ample time for spiritual refreshment (Psalm 27:7-8)

·        A woman sensitive to the needs of others (Proverbs 31:20)

·        A woman who joins her husband in leading their family toward eternal life (Hebrews 11:13-16)
