Online Truth

You are the light of the world.  A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to all in the house.  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.  Matthew 5:14-16

Why We use The Name

Too many who refer to themselves as “Christians” lack balance.  They then seek to label all who choose to use the actual name of the one they refer to as "God" as “sacred-namers.”  When labels are placed on those with whom we disagree it is then easier to dehumanize them.  This approach is used in many circles.

Some have questioned the importance of learning the proper name of the one they continue to refer to as God.  In most versions of the Holy Scriptures, this name does not appear.  The Authorized Version occasionally refers to the name as Jah or Jehovah.  Most often it names Him as “the Lord.”  When we read the Hebrew Scriptures, however, the continued and repetitive use of YHWH (Yahweh) is unmistakable (though I have heard several pronunciations).  This personal name Yahweh appears approximately 6,800 time in the Hebrew Scriptures.  If our Heavenly Father was careful enough to give Israel His proper name, it would seem that we who honor and worship Him should want to understand that name for ourselves.

On the other side of balance, it must be recognized that it is not so distasteful for believers to refer to Yahweh by various titles which apply to his Being that we should make the judgment that He would cut them off for worshipping false gods.  That is a decision YHWH will make.  While the proper names are important, it should be remembered that names are words designed to reveal the qualities of the bearer.  Though Yahweh and Yahshua are the proper names, it is appropriate to refer to them as “The Eternal” or “Our Savior.”

As has been stated, too often people lack balance.  This has been the case with the name Yahweh.  Descendents of the nation of Judah were so afraid of violating the third commandment by pronouncing the name that they avoided its use and some believe they may have lost its original pronunciation.  Now some true disciples have rediscovered and restored the use of the name.

Biblical names in Hebrew forms, transliterated into the world’s languages, are a part of the restoration of "Christianity’s" Israelitish foundations.  True believers should gain this knowledge and enrich their relationship with Him by understanding His nature as revealed in His proper name, Yahweh.

The need for restoring the knowledge of His name by His believers today is readily discernible for the fact that those who are called His elect are referred to in Revelation 14:1 as” having His Father’s name written in their foreheads.”  Surely those who will be called by His name should want to know His name as Moses did.

Understanding the one true personal name is yet another part of the great heritage of Judaism that is being restored in our day.  It is a part of a better way of recognition and worship of the Eternal Creator.  It should make our worship more meaningful.  While we should honor Judaism’s sensitivities concerning the use of the Ineffable Name, we should certainly come to understand what His name is and what it means--and not abstain from using it in our personal lives.

This website is dedicated to restoring truth and presenting it here on line.

Note:  It is understood that some believe and support “Jehovah” as the actual name.  Yet the majority of scholars have concluded that Yahweh is the most accurate pronunciation.  Further research continues.  If additional truth is discovered, changes will be made accordingly.
