Online Truth


You are the light of the world.  A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand, and it give light to all in the house.  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.  Matthew 5:14-16

 

The Mature Man

 
The world's view of a mature man is based largely on how he looks and what he owns.  Physically, a mature man is strong and suave; he could be labeled "a hunk"!  Materially, a mature man has a great financial portfolio and lots of "toys";  He'd be considered a "man's man."
 
But God defines a mature man differently.  According to scripture, a mature man is:
 
*  a man of faith (Romans 5:1)
*  a man of God's Word (Col. 1:10)
*  a man stable and secure (Eph. 4:13-14)
*  a man who is spiritual head of his house (5:23)
*  a man faithful to his spouse (I Thes. 4:3-4)
*  a man whose children respect him (Eph. 6:4)
*  a man who leads his family toward eternal life
    (I Pet.3:7; III John 4)
*  a man known in the community for honesty
    (I Tim. 3:7)
*  a man who seeks wisdom from God (James 1:5)
*  a man compassionate to the needs of others (Eph. 4:32)
*  a man in control of his behavior (II Cor. 7:1)
*  a man accountable to family, community, and God (II Tim. 4:7-8)
